Darin Weidauer

Darin Weidauer is a Gerontologist, and an independent insurance agency operator and the creator of the MyECOS360 insurance-agency operating framework. As founder of ECOS Insurance Solutions, Darin works across Medicare, life, and annuity lines of business — the operating environment the framework was built in and for.

Darin’s background is academic before it is commercial. He holds five master’s degrees: an MBA and a master’s in Psychology from Pepperdine University, a master’s in Information Technology from Touro University, a master’s in Long-Term Care from the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, and a master’s in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University School of Law. His four undergraduate degrees — in Business, Mathematics, Occupational Education, and Construction Management — are from Wayland Baptist University. He was a professor at Loyola Marymount University and has lectured at more than fifty other colleges and universities.

That training is why the framework treats the Medicare-focused side of agency work the way it does: a gerontologist’s view that clients are people moving through a life stage, not transactions, and the systems that serve them held to an evidence standard first learned in the classroom.

His service as a U.S. Air Force veteran shapes the other half of the framework: how agents are developed and how agencies are led. Military training is, at its core, a system for turning people into capable operators under pressure — clear standards, repeatable drills, genuine accountability, and leaders measured by whether the people under them can perform without being rescued. MyECOS360 did not start as a content product. It started as the working answer to problems familiar to most agency owners: difficult work routing back to one desk, numbers that never became decisions, and improvements that evaporated after the meeting that launched them. The six-system model, the constraint-first discipline, and the operating cadence were built to run a real agency first — and became a framework because the patterns generalized.

Darin’s working conviction, and the framework’s core standard, is that Unknown is a valid answer: an agency that labels its data gaps honestly will outmanage one that decorates its dashboards.
